BHJ's Deck Height Bore Extension, when used in combination with the Deck Height Micrometer (shown left), allows deck height measurements to be taken from any cylinder in virtually any block. The Extension is designed to be used with BHJ's 2" Precision Ground Bar and Main Bearing Adapter Rings, as well as the Deck Height Micrometer.

The Extension rests on an installed 2" Bar and aligns itself vertically on the cylinder wall. Readings are taken from the top surface of the Extension, using the Deck Height Micrometer. This allows for quick deck height checks to qualify blocks for clean-up to a target deck height before machining, as well as precise final-height checks after machining.

The Deck Height Bore Extension is also a valuable addition for engine builders using BHJ's Blok-Tru decking fixture, as it allows deck height measurements to be taken at other locations up and down the decks and 360 degrees around each bore. The Extension is machined to the correct length to give the same reading as measurements taken from the Blok-Tru index plate for consistency of height reference.

The Deck Height Bore Extension is constructed of billet steel for durability and excellent thermal expansion properties and is precision-machined to exact tolerances.
